- Shuttle service will be provided for all guests to and from Villa Caletas to
Tierra de Ratowsky.
Accomodations

All guest will be accommodated at Villa Caletas, a neo-classic luxury boutique hotel located on a rainforest hilltop in the Central Pacific coast of Costa Rica. The hotel will be equipped with an infinity pool, cocktail lounge, spa, restaurant, private beach, fitness center and more.

Transportation

All guests should coordinate and book their own transportation. You may take advantage of three options on how to get to & from the airport to our accommodations.
- PRIVATE SHUTTLE for LUXURY: You may schedule a private service shuttle from the airport to our accommodations by emailing Kyutzza Vargas Alvarado concierge@villacaletas.com. You must book this shuttle service at least 48-hours in advance. The shuttle can fit up to 10 people and the cost is approximately $110 total.
- RENT A CAR for EASE: All major car rentals are available near SJO airport. The highway from San Jose to Villa Caletas has been recently updated & only takes approximately 90 minutes.
- LOCAL BUS for ADVENTURE: If you would like a slight Rican adventure upon entering the country we recommend taking the local bus from SJO to Jaco. For a mere $3 this bus has a route pickup at the airport every 2-hours.
Flights

All guests should coordinate and book their own travel into SJO (San Jose, Costa Rica). We ask that you please arrive on the 1st of February to join us and settle into our accommodations prior our wedding day.
Activities

Before the wedding we were thinking of having some fun together.
- Lo would love to round up any interested ladies for a day sailing around the coast popping bottles & hopping islands and then meet the guys for a freshly caught dinner.
- Grason is thinking of gathering the guys for a deep sea fishing trip. Afterwards you take the bounty to local cooks who prepare the fish in numerous traditional ways for us all to enjoy a wonderful meal based around our fresh daily catch.

Playa Hermosa

Situated in primary rainforest behind Playa Hermosa is our land & the location of where the wedding will take place. Dad bought this land almost 30 years ago. Growing up we've had some of the best moments of our lives up here. The scenery & views are breathtaking and we can't wait to share this magical land with all of you!
Playa Hermosa also has some of the best surfing in Costa Rica but not for beginners!

San Jose

You will probably not spend too much time in the big city of Costa Rica, but if you are staying in San Jose for a bit it has some wonderful things to offer. If you have a chance, pop in Mercado Central for amazing local food, great goods from local artisans at a deal of a price or pick up an ox bone handled machete to hack through the jungle. In the evening you can have a cocktail in Escazu just outside San Jose & look over the city, then pop into Teatro Nacional for a glorious show in a historic building in the heart of the city.

If you love hiking, enchanted forests & animal viewing Monteverde is the spot for you. Monteverde offers amazing hikes, canopy tours and zip lining through its world renowned cloud forests.

Arenal

Positioned within Costa Rica’s fertile northern lowlands, the Arenal Volcano is an unavoidable presence while traveling within this part of the country. It was Costa Ricas most active volcano until 2010 but now is in a rest cycle so you probably wont see the neon lava at night. Travelers to Arenal will still enjoy its bountiful sights, sounds and activities— there are mountains to be hiked, lakes to be fished and rivers to be floated. As one of the country’s most scenic and accessible areas, it is a requisite stop on any tour of Costa Rica.
Over 20 years ago Dad, Zarin and I used to come bearing our machetes, hike into the jungle and pitch tent by one of the natural lava hot springs without a human in sight. Today that isn't possible as big resorts have taken over the areas but the hot springs still soothe the soul as much as ever.

Santa Rosa

Santa Rosa national park is an absolute must if you plan on traveling to the Northern Pacific region of Costa Rica. Some of our most magical memories have taken place here. Ask Ian Ratowsky about some stories of this area if you have a chance. Bring a tent, camp out for a few nights and you'll be sure to bank up some incredible moments.
Playa Naranjo & witches rock are some of the best beaches to surf as well if you're into that kind of thing.

Playa Blanca

Lo and I were turned onto this spot by Zarin Ratowsky. Playa Blanca is one of the most gorgeous secluded beaches in Costa Rica. If you want to get away from all crowds and just relax, camp here, drive to the beach and enjoy a day of skinny dipping with sting rays. Its also a jaguar reserve so bear that in mind... Ask Lo more about that if you have a chance;)

Costa Rica is a land of heart, immense natural beauty & people who bestow a unique kindness. They are people who figured out how to enjoy a more simple & more pure life. You will see these attributes in every corner of this magical country & before you know it the pura vida lifestyle will engulf you with open arms, leaving you more peaceful, tranquil & at ease than ever. I have had the unique opportunity (thanks Dad & Mom) to live in this country numerous times and for years throughout my human development. I look back on these memories with extreme fondness & appreciation having learned & developed through the process. Below I've highlighted a few places that will always spark some of my deepest, most influential memories. If you are a guest that is staying in this phenomenal land for a bit longer either before or after our most glorious celebration of love, I urge you to experience some of the locations highlighted below to make a few lifetime memories of your own.
